Designed and manufactured for high performance electronics equipment connections in demanding applications, the new Polamco expanded beam fibre-optic connectors have been produced with the popular and proven MIL-DTL-38999 Series III connector format. The generic, tri-start one-turn anti-decoupling mechanism and rugged construction, with our wide choice of materials and plating finishes makes the system particularly suitable for harsh environment vehicle, aircraft and naval applications worldwide.

The expanded beam arrangement provides high-reliability transmission even in harsh conditions and may be easily cleaned ‘in the field’ without affecting functionality if necessary. The field-proven construction, where the polished fibre-optic ferrules are simply inserted into the expanded beam housing and fixed in place via a spring and cover plate, offers flexibility and cost-effectiveness combined with a simple termination arrangement which allows for rapid and reliable repair in service, maintaining valuable or critical communications for the most demanding applications.

Plug connectors for reinforced tactical cable or zip-cords may be specified with straight or 90 degree angled backshell forms and supplied in Stainless Steel, Marine Nickel Aluminium Bronze and Aluminium shell materials, with our usual wide choice of plating finishes.

The Receptacles connectors may be specified in jam-nut or square flange panel mount arrangements, each also with the same choice of straight or 90 degree backshell and material/finish options. Additionally, a low profile receptacle is available for fibre pigtails within protected equipment.
